Omega-3 Fatty Acids are ESSENTIAL for health and wellbeing and required for proper function of the heart, the brain and every other cell, tissue, organ, and gland in the body. Inflammation is at the root of virtually all disease processes, and it is the Omega-3’s that take the body down a healthier, anti-inflammatory pathway.
Fish oils contain EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid). These long-chain omega 3 fatty acids are critical from pre-natal development and throughout life to support the brain, nervous system, mental wellbeing, cardiovascular health, eyes, skin, nail, digestion, and the immune system. Vegetable sources like chia and flax do not have EPA/DHA. These fats have to convert to EPA/DHA, and the body cannot do this efficiently enough to rely on vegan sources alone. The only way to SAFELY consume adequate amounts of EPA/DHA is by consuming a purified Omega-3 fish oil coming from small, wild-caught fish and salmon for additional safety and purity. Additionally, more DHA and some EPA can be found by consuming vegan Algal Oil. E3 contains both purified fish oil as well as Algal.
Algal oil has an incredible fatty acid profile. It has more monounsaturated fat than olive oil (13 grams per tablespoon compared to 9.9 grams for olive oil and is exceptionally high in DHA.
Algal oil tends to be more abundant in DHA – 35% – than EPA – 3% – so fish oil is essential to add and complete the ideal fatty acid profile.
What makes E3 even more remarkable is the addition of MCT oil (Medium Chain Triglycerides). MCTs are a unique form of fat. They provide both antioxidant and anti-microbial properties that aid in immunity and are anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, even anti-viral benefits. As many are aware, MCTs are also extremely important for energy and burning unwanted fat.
Finally, there are 3000 IUs of Vitamin D3 (75mcg). Vitamin D is a commonly deficient and critical to human health. Studies show that low Vitamin D levels increase the risk of type 1 diabetes, pain, depression, and cancers of the breast, colon, prostate, ovaries, esophagus, and lymphatic system.
